How To Make Homemade Deep Hair Conditioner

For the benefit of your hair, everyone should use deep hair conditioner at least once a month.

As many of you know there are many hair products that you can buy over the counter.

Products ranging from low end brands to fancy in salon brands.  If you decide to go with a cheaper brand, you might be forsaking the quality of the ingredients used.

On the other hand, if you decide to go with a high end brand then you will have to be willing to fork over a pretty penny.

Instead of buying an over the counter drugstore hair conditioner, consider making your own version at home.  There are also plenty of homemade deep hair conditioner recipes on the web.

Homemade Deep Hair Conditioner

If you are daring enough to make your own and use your own homemade deep conditioner, try out this awesome recipe.

The only ingredients you will need are olive oil, mayonnaise, and egg yolks.  For this recipe, you will need 3 or 4 egg yolks, half a cup of olive oil, a cup of mayonnaise at room temperature, and a shower cap.  Make sure to keep the mayonnaise at room temperature.

If you plan on using refrigerated mayonnaise, microwave the mayonnaise for around 10 seconds.  Do not over microwave or the mayonnaise will separate and not be usable.

Once you have all the ingredients, all you need to do is mix the ingredients together in a bowl.  You can cut down or increase the proportions if you have short hair or longer hair.

Once you have evenly mixed the mixture, you are ready to apply it to your hair starting from the scalp down.

Use Gloves When Making Deep Hair Conditioner

If you like, you can use some plastic gloves to prevent your hands from getting slimy from the conditioner.

Slowly work your way down to the tips of your hair, and be sure to apply an extra amount to the ends of your hair.

Once you have thoroughly applied the deep conditioner, use a shower cap to cover your head and then cover that with a towel to retain heat.

Leave the mask on for around 15 minutes to 20 minutes and proceed to wash it out as normal.  There is no need to use shampoo after the treatment.  In fact it is advised to not shampoo.

If you are weary about going out afterwards, it is suggested to pick a day where you won’t be going out to an important function, going to work, and so forth.

The reason behind not using shampoo is that you want the oils to stay in as long as possible to penetrate through your hair.

When washing out the deep conditioner, be sure to use warm or hot water as warmer temperatures allow hair follicles to open up, allowing the conditioner and the nutrients to have more of an effect.

Only use cold water after you have rinsed out everything, as cold water will seal off your hair follicles and make your hair extra shiny!

If you made too much deep hair conditioner, you can save it and use it for another treatment, use it as a face mask, or deep body conditioner.

However, the mixture will not retain it’s freshness for an extended period of time, so it is best to use it ASAP.
