FilmAid International Benefit 2008

FilmAid International held their annual benefit April 9th in NYC and a couple employees from Worrell, Inc., a Minneapolis-based design firm, were very excited to attend.

Worrell designed the invitation suite and the awards for the gala and we were thrilled to be present while FilmAid’s honorees were recognized.

It was very humbling and motivating to hear feedback from one of the honorees, Valentino Achak Deng, subject of the bestselling novel What is the What, as told to us by Caroline Avakian, Director of Communications & External Relations for FilmAid, “(Valentino was) thrilled…to be taking his award back to Nairobi and South Sudan so he could proudly show his family and friends his beautiful award. I thought that was so great…how this award that you all created in Minneapolis (and Montreal) has become so symbolic and will travel so far and represent so much to so many people.”

We never anticipated how much our efforts could mean to another, when working with FilmAid has meant so much to us. We would like to thank NEED magazine for introducing us to FilmAid, it has been our pleasure to work with both organizations.
